On September 22, 2024, AOT Ground Aviation Services Company Limited (AOTGA) held a welcoming event for CONDOR Airlines, which has launched its new route from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) to Phuket Airport (HKT) for the first time. Mr. Thanakorn Srihamart, Vice President - Phuket International Airport, Mr. Paruehas Prommachan, Operations Director - Phuket International Airport, and Ms. Intiya Forrest, Deputy Director of Commercial, along with the AOTGA team, welcomed Mr. Sascha Hoffmann, Regional Manager of Ground Operations for CONDOR Airlines, as the inaugural flight landed at Phuket Airport at 08:00 AM. The flight will return on the HKT-FRA route at 10:00 AM Thailand time, with ground services provided by AOTGA.
The inaugural flight, DE 2368, was operated by an Airbus A330-900 featuring the airline's signature design of alternating colored stripes with white. This particular aircraft was decorated with yellow and white stripes on its fuselage and had various colored headrests according to the seating class. The Airbus A330-900 is the largest in the A330 family, capable of accommodating up to 300 passengers in a full three-class configuration (First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class) or up to 460 passengers in an all-Economy Class layout.
CONDOR Airlines is one of the largest German airlines, having begun operations in 1956 with over 90 destinations worldwide. The launch of this new route by CONDOR Airlines reflects the growth of Thailand's tourism industry.
